According to a MyQ announcement posted today by the University, the administrative structure for the College of Professional Studies will cease to exist beginning June 30.
"The degree programs currently offered by the College of Professional Studies will become the responsibility of the School of Business effective July 1, 2009," the announcement said.
"The B.S. in organizational leadership will gradually be phased out, although all currently enrolled students will be permitted to complete the program. No further students will be admitted to the undergraduate program."
When asked for comment on the decision, Associate Vice President of Public Affairs John Morgan said the University will refrain from public comment at this time.
In a struggling economic climate, the University announced last semester that a faculty hiring freeze would be implemented, as well as job cuts for 10 percent of the adjunct faculty.
