Jason DeRulo- “In My Head”
Jason DeRulo strikes again with this new smash hit, sure to be a song that will get everyone in a great mood. This up-beat pop single is fresh off of his cleverly titled album “Jason DeRulo,” which is set to release on March 2. Speaking from experience, this song will ironically never fail to get stuck in your head! Following his previous hit “Whatcha Say,” DeRulo is on his way to another crowd pleasing Billboard Hot 100 hit, with “In My Head” reaching No. 10 so far on the pop song list. It’s the perfect belt-out tune and a great accessory for a night out on the town.
Lady Gaga- “Bad Romance”
OK, I admit it. The first time I heard Lady Gaga’s chants of “Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah,” there was no doubt in my mind that she had reached a whole new level of crazy. This chart-topping single is unlike anything these days. Having trouble understanding the lyrics? Well take a look at the music video for a somewhat frightening, vaguely-explanatory adventure. Despite my theory of mental illness, Lady Gaga with remain a legend to all of her fans with “Bad Romance.”
OneRepublic-“All the Right Moves”
If you feel like jamming, this is the song for you. As embarrassing as it sounds, I can’t help but grab the nearest object and start tapping away whenever I hear it. This song is always blasting in my dorm room and seems to just lure people in, giving me a boost of popularity and a “win-win” situation. Landing its big break on Myspace, OneRepublic shows no signs of slowing down with their newest album “Waking Up.” This song proves that they really do have all the right moves.
Ciara-“Goodies”
Flashback to about 2004 and you’ve got yourself a hot new artist with a debut album. This random selection popped up during a jam session, thanks to my shuffling iTunes library, an intense amount of caffeinated beverages and an unwritten English paper that was in dire need of completion. Ciara followed this song with “1,2 Step” and “Oh,” both also appearing on her album “Goodies.” The high pitched beat and added feature of Petey Pablo make this song recognizable from the very first seconds.
Barcelona-“Colors”
My first encounter with the band was through a friend during finals week. With a lot of stress and a lot of studying, I needed time to relax and Barcelona’s Indie rock sound did the trick. “Colors” is one of my favorite songs from their album “Absolutes.” The normally softer tones are disregarded on this song, one with a very upbeat, yet simple style that can’t help but draw you in.
