In only three days since the Quinnipiac Bobcats played in the NCAA National Championship game, two players have already inked professional deals.
According to New Haven Register reporter Chip Malafronte, defenseman Mike Dalhuisen has signed a contract with the New York Islanders and is set to play for their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, beginning next season.
The terms of the contract are undisclosed.
Dalhuisen flourished for the Bobcats this past year, playing in 42 games with a career high 8 goals and 8 assists. He finishes his time at Quinnipiac with 38 total points with 12 goals and 26 assists.
He was born in Nijmegen, Netherlands and moved to Canada, and eventually the United States, as a teenager to pursue hockey.
